From late 2019 through 2022, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) issued twenty-one whistleblower awards to individuals who provided high-quality information about wildlife crime. Fish and Wildlife Service to wildlife whistleblowers. A whistleblower subsequently came forward and provided FWS with the identity of the shooter.
